ith six full-time BIM operators in-house, T.H. Martin can provide full BIM and design-assist capacity. Our BIM program utilizes industry-specific software with direct download to fabrication computers. Fully trained and certified on Revit, AutoCAD, Trimble Syque Revit, and Navisworks, T.H. Martin can adapt and provide full coordination on any project’s mechanical systems. If required, T.H. Martin can function as the lead coordinator for all BIM activities.

Collaborative Approach

T.H. Martin works together with the Project Engineer and other various team partners in the development of completed construction documents with implemented clash detection. Our BIM operators issue RFIs accordingly, and then take the designs to fabrication and install the systems per the BIM drawings. Our system is fully automated to ensure quality control from drawing to manufacturing, including tagging of all sections for shop fabrication, quality assurance, and field installation.

If there are any design changes either before or during construction, our BIM operators work directly with our Project Managers and Foreman to rework the design. T.H. Martin is dedicated to direct and open communication between the field and the design team to ensure maximum efficiency during the construction process. Our project managers administer any pricing changes that may result.

Metrohealth Case Study

T.H. Martin’s work on the MetroHealth Transformation started in early 2019 and finished in the Spring of 2022.

Seventy-five of sheet metal work involved pre-fabrication. In total, we installed 1.8 million pounds of sheet metal for the job. The entire mechanical plumbing contract was $100 million, with sheet metal being $16 million.

Given that the hospital will have multiple cafeterias once it is completed, we had to contend with about 300,000 pounds of black-iron 16 GA welded ductwork constructed to handle kitchen exhaust. To reduce the amount of welding required onsite, we tried to handle as much of the kitchen ductwork as possible through fabrication.
