The initial design for the HVAC system came in at $490,000.00, way over the budgets at hand. Working through the Construction Manager, Engineer, and Owner through a collaborative effort, we determined what was truly needed and what the Metroparks could live without. The entire radiant heating system and snow melt systems were removed from the project. Several hydronic heaters were replaced with electric heaters. A second make-up air unit was removed by slightly enlarging the remaining unit. Heated rocks were replaced with chilled caves and a chilled log.

The final contract amount was $295,000.00 for the HVAC, a 40% price savings.
